Emirates Insight is a business news publication based in Dubai. This policy explains the personal information we collect when you use our website, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. If anything here is unclear, write to privacy@emiratesinsight.com.
What we collect
We try to collect as little personal data as we can to run the site. The data we do collect falls into three groups.
Information you give us
- Email address, when you subscribe to a newsletter or contact us.
- Your name, company, role, and message, when you fill in a contact or pitch form.
- Account details (name, email, profile bio) if you are a staff editor, author, or contributor publishing through our admin.
Information collected automatically
- Standard server log data: IP address, browser, device type, referring page, and the page you visited. We use this to keep the site reliable and to spot abuse.
- First-party cookies that remember consent choices and, for signed-in staff, that keep you logged in.
Information from third parties
- Anonymous analytics from Cloudflare Web Analytics. No third-party tracking cookies, no fingerprinting, no profile building.
- Payment processing for ad invoicing, handled by our finance provider; we never store card data.
How we use it
- To deliver the page or newsletter you asked for.
- To reply to your message.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
- To understand which stories are read most, in aggregate, so we plan future coverage.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers as a profile. Sponsored articles on Emirates Insight are clearly labelled and do not personalise based on your reading history.
How long we keep it
Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are kept for 24 months and then deleted unless the conversation is still active. Server logs are rotated every 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Email privacy@emiratesinsight.com and we will reply within 30 days. UAE residents have rights under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law; EU/UK readers have GDPR rights; California readers have CCPA rights.
Cookies
The site uses only essential cookies (consent and login). It does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser without losing access to public content.
Security
The site runs on Cloudflare with HTTPS forced site-wide, and all admin authentication uses magic links plus optional two-factor authentication. We do our best, but no system on the internet is 100 percent secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you within 72 hours.

We may update this page if our practices change. The date below shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be announced on the homepage.
